These are projects done by me and my group for a short film by the name of Borderline which I edited, and a music video for the song Mad World by Gary Jules in which I acted and had some input on direction.

Work Outside of Course
As well as working on my assignments I have been doing work with the North Wales Film and Photography Collective. We have recently covered the Focus Festival, which is a local music festival and business conference run over three days in Wrexham with as variety of local and international bands.
My job was as a photographer for the events at Central Station on Friday evening and the local museum on Saturday afternoon.
It was a very professional atmosphere and we required photo passes and were only allowed to photograph the first three numbers of the headline act. I feel that this has given me more of an experience with working in the field and outside of the studio. I am very interested in gig photography and so this has helped me gain an idea of how the whole thing works and also made me more employable in the future due to not only having more familiarity with it but having examples of work to show in the area.
I have worked with the Collective before also, photographing the Wrexham Christmas Lights Switch On, which again is obviously a professional event as it involved celebrities as well as the local pantomime cast. It was run by the local counsel who then used some of the images, so obviously it was important to make them as document friendly as possible. This also gave me a great feeling of what it was like to work along side clients and in a work environment for my future career possibilities.
On top of work with the Collective, I have also shot images for the Glyndwr University Athletics Union Ball, I was asked to focus mainly on candid shots but as well as this, to take some photos as awards were being presented. This was something I found very fun and it gave me more practice in event photography and working with candids.

Shooting For Stock
Due to a family trip to West Midlands Safari Park, I decided to do this project under the category of "Zoo Animals". I tried to capture a variety of animals in different environments. To me, some of these images are more of the animals in action but some feel more posed almost, I like this, my favourite is of the Lion. "Animals" is also a top category on GettyImages.com

Body Landscapes
contours in hand - hills
Elbow - hill/mountain
Tongue - trail/river
Scar - ditch/trail
contours in feet - lines in plants( leaves)
hair - grass
For this assignment, I wanted to focus more so on the smaller details of the body rather than the shape of it over all. For example, the tongue, the lines within hands and feet, hair and scars. I have de-saturated the photos to remove any non-landscape colours and played around with levels to distort some of the images away from being seen as simply body parts.

Still Life
My concept was of a campaign based around dreams, I used 3 objects which I thought represented this theme of sleeping/dreams and played around with composition of the image. I used a slower shutter speed to create a blur as I thought this would give a more dreamlike fee to the images. My favourite is image 6.
Some images that inspired me:
I liked the lighting in this image and felt it gave a very sleepy feel.
The objects used are also similar to mine.
I felt that these images gave a very natural mood and seemed to almost just capture something that was not necessarily arranged, which is how I wanted my photography to look.
